ZUIVER COLLAB
INSPIRED BY THE SHAPES OF OLD ANDALUSIA
Andalusia is overflowing with exquisite ceramics and historic architecture, all enhanced by the warm colors and intricate geometric patterns that define the region. The shapes that tell Andalusia's rich history captivated us, with architectural details shaped by Moorish influences serving as the main inspiration for this collection.
During our collaboration with the Dutch interior brand Zuiver, we designed unique pieces inspired by our time in Andalusia, a region renowned for its stunning historical and craft heritage. We established a temporary studio there for four months, immersing ourselves in the rich culture and conducting extensive research.
THE CURVES FOUND IN THE ARCHES, PASSAGES AND PILLARS OF PALACES RESONATE IN OUR DESIGNS
In the past, geometry was used to shape the world around us. Simple shapes like circles were combined to create arches, window facades, and other architectural elements. We aimed to reflect these geometric shapes in our designs. For instance, our mirrors feature a circular shape framed by three-dimensional domes, inspired by the iconic forms of Moorish architecture.

Each piece is meticulously handcrafted from sheet metal, resulting in smooth and pristine lines. They are finished with a matte powder coating in soft beige and deep dark brown, evoking the iconic use of sunlight by the Moors. The soft beige mirrors the sunlit limestone buildings, while the deep dark brown symbolizes the cool, shaded areas that provide relief from the heat.
